You’re invited to our trailer open day

As Australia’s premier trailer manufacturer, we’re often asked just how we make our trailers.

Now you can find out, as we’re holding an open day on the 14 March 2015 to give you an insight into the everyday workings of the business.

We’ll give visitors a comprehensive tour of our factory, taking them from start to finish of the manufacturing process.

You don’t have to be a trailer fanatic – the general public is invited to attend, and we expect to see visitors young and old, from those with only a passing interest in our business to people from the industries we’ve served so well for almost six decades.

Enthusiasts who take pride in their Drake Collectable truck models are also invited to attend; there will be special models available to snap up on the open day.

Monday 14 March 2015 is an exciting date for Drake Trailers, as it sees the launch of two new trailers for us! A heavy duty drop deck trailer will be unveiled, as will a new heavy duty tilt slide trailer, which our general manager Khali Lake says will help a range of businesses to diversify.

Innovation is certainly one of our USPs, and we always like to stay ahead of the chasing pack. To see how, you’ll have to attend next Monday!

Here are some quick facts about us, to whet your appetite in the build-up to the open day:

• The average timespan between conception of a truck to completion is around four to five months. Of this, the vast majority of time (around three months) is spent on manufacturing.
• Drake’s recent record output came in 2012, when we manufactured 298 trailers at the Wacol factory.
• The year before last, we made 220 trailers.

The open day kicks off on Monday at 9am and finishes at 1pm. Food and drinks will be available, so we hope to see you there!
