Can you believe that 2017 is nearly coming to a close? While the year might be winding down, the team at The Drake Group haven’t slowed down one bit, engineering and building some of our favourite heavy haulage trailers to date.
We’ve seen so many trailers roll out the lot this past month, but here are two trailers – a 3X4 Deck Widener and a 4X4 Full Widener – that we are particularly proud of.
Another great trailer for Stuchbery Bros Haulage
Based in Geelong, Stuchbery Bros Haulage are the experts in heavy machinery and general transport. Their fleet of trailers enables them to transport everything from excavators, dozers, forklifts, telehandlers, agriculture and earth moving equipment, containers, pipework and tanks safely and professionally across the state.
This is not their first rodeo with The Drake Group either. They previously contacted us to build a 4X4 Deck Widener and 2X4 Dolly for their ever-expanding fleet. This time around though, they’d opted for the popular 3X4 Deck Widener complete with self-tracking axles and an eye-catching orange finish.
The Drake Deck Widener is considered a classic. It’s been a part of the Drake family of trailers for over 30 years (with a few upgrades and technological advancements) and for good reason: It’s designed to last.
The 3X4 Deck Widener is also available in 4X4 tyre configurations and the self-tracking axles are particularly great for those who require their trailer for urban and built-up-area use.

Custom Full Widener for Dirt Diesel and Dust Pty Ltd
Another combination we delivered in October that we’re incredibly proud of is a 4X4 Full Widener and a 2X4 Dolly for Dirt Diesel and Dust Pty Ltd. This Emerald based company was established in 2011 by Jason Hartwell and currently has three trucks in his fleet.
This Full Widener featured a garnet red paint to match the truck up front, which you may notice has a very proud “QUEENSLANDER” decal. Along with all the great standard features, we also fitted hydraulic legs and a 30,000-pound hydraulic winch.
The Full Widener has been one of our most popular trailers for many years due to its on-site capabilities and its low tare weight. Pound for pound this trailer cannot be beaten!
