Every month we like to take time to say “thank-you” to our customers who make our business thrive. Not only do they afford us the opportunity to keep designing, manufacturing and servicing a wide range of heavy haulage trailers, but we enjoy meeting them and sharing stories about life on the road. In October we are celebrating our relationship with Roma Transport.
The company, which only last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, specialises in transporting oil and gas rigs for various companies such as Ensign International Services, SANTOS, WDS and Origin Energy. They service the various oil and gas fields located in the Maranoa region but also deliver all across Australia. Their fleet includes road trains, drop decks, cranes and even water tanks that can hold up to 5,500 gallons among other heavy duty vehicles they offer their clients.
New additions
Recently however, they came to The Drake Group to take delivery of the two latest additions to their growing roster of machinery.
A brand-new 4×4 Full Widener, is one of The Drake Group’s most consistently in-demand performers. One of the key features of this trailer is the extendable main beam. With a variety of freight tasks required for gas fields, the extendable will provide versatility for all load types. It also sports hydraulic-controlled ramps that lay flat into the propped position for extra deck length if required. Low profile 20” wheels will ensure the bearings and brakes stay cool in the harsh outback as well as giving good ground clearance in the scrub.
The 2×4 Dolly will load share perfectly with the Prime Mover and give Roma Transport the capability of carrying around 45 tonne payload legally.
It was great to see these two models roll out of our local design and manufacturing facility in Wacol, and we’re sure they will see many years of hard-working service for Roma Transport and their clients.
