Drake Trailers recently made a company-first record for the largest order ever placed for our heavy duty haulage trailers. NQ Group, a Queensland-based oversized transport provider and long-term client of Drake Trailers, placed the order for 18 rows of custom-built, fully modular steerable platform trailers, a contract worth over $4.5M.
The 18-row platform, which can be effectively broken down into three separate, six row-of-eight trailers, draws its strength from its level deck, high tensile steel frame and is based on steerable modules, providing a 180-tonne load capacity and the flexibility to cart oversized equipment.
Being mainly used to transport heavy mine haul trucks, the two axles across a row, together with eight tyres and load sharing suspension will give NQ Group much more flexibility in transit plus additional payload capacity.
In addition to the 18-row platform, the order includes a four-rows-of-eight swing wing trailer, complete with hydraulic goose neck and dolly, and two by four rows-of-four drop deck full wideners, also with goose necks and dollies.
By adding this new equipment to their existing fleet, NQ Group is set to become one of the largest operators of fully modular and semi-modular steerable platform equipment in Australia, with the capacity to tackle any heavy haulage project Australia wide.
Drake has been delivering widening and fixed-width trailers, steerable modular trailers and custom-built trailers to NQ Group for 15 years, since the company first started. We are pleased that our quality engineered trailers continue to provide NQ Group with the strength, flexibility, durability and serviceability needed to get the job done.
