When Col Drake commenced operations of Drake Trailers, he could never have imagined what his business would look like 60 years later. Cut to the present day with John (2nd generation), and Sam and Maggie (3rd generation) continuing the Drake legacy, the family has remained at the cornerstone of this business.
We are now only a week away from our massive Open Day to celebrate our 60th-year milestone. We are opening our doors to bring you a family fun day filled with competitions, activities for the kids (and the kids at heart), special announcements and an opportunity to see how our world-class trailers are manufactured at our Wacol facility.

Factory tours
See how our trailers are made from start to finish with a factory tour of our 8650 square metre manufacturing facility. Our tours will be running frequently throughout the course of the day, with our Drake Group team members proudly showing off the entire process, from initial design to manufacturing.
You’ll see the components shed, otherwise known as the birthplace of the famous Drake Gooseneck, along with the Off-Jig Fabrication area, where the backbone of the trailer takes form to create the strong, durable trailers we all know and love. You’ll also see the pre-fit area, where the final stage of fabrication takes place. Here, our trailers truly take shape with the smaller components, such as the axles, brackets and tyre carriers, are added.
Diecast announcements
The much-anticipated unveiling of our diecast model to commemorate 60 years is one not to miss. The team at Drake Collectibles has been hard at work perfecting this limited-edition model and we can’t wait to see it. Along with this special model, they’ll also have their entire range of die-cast models on show and special discounts on offer for that day only.
Entertainment and fun for the whole family
This is a day designed for the whole family. Treat yourself to goodies from a selection of food vendors including Ruby, the Little Red Ice Cream Van. Get your face painted and engage in some of the amazing competition we have running throughout the day.
