They’ll move the earth to reach project goals – quite literally. Gellie’s Earthmoving is an experienced civil construction and earthworks business responsible for some of Australia’s largest civil projects. Recently, they took a delivery of a custom-built Drake Trailers Deck Widener to safely transport their oversized equipment. Let’s take a look at the kind of projects the Drake Group’s Deck Widener will experience as part of the Gellie’s Earthmoving fleet.
Moving Australia forward
Established as an owner-operator business in 1983, Gellie’s Earthmoving now operates with a team of 20 highly skilled employees, specially trained in safety for civil and infrastructure projects. These skills lend themselves to some of Australia’s largest projects, such as the Dandenong Bypass – connecting Springvale South to the South Gippsland Highway – and the Nagambie Bypass, a bypass which aimed to reduce the number of trucks rambling through the heart of Nagambie.
Gellie’s Earthmoving was also contracted on several sustainable energy projects including the $1 billion Leighten/Vestas MacArthur Wind Farm, which is designed to save 1.5 million tonnes of greenhouse gases every year. To build the wind farm, Gellie’s boxed out road formations for over 100km worth of service roads, construction of 140 tower bases and completed significant cut and fill works.

To support their big projects, Drake Trailers custom-built a Quad Deck Widener that’ll help Gellie’s transport their massive fleet of plant equipment, including
