This time around they replaced their old axle low loader for a classy custom-built Quad Steering Widener. About Leeson’s Logging & Cartage
Leeson’s Logging & Cartage are now in their third generation, operating in Australia for over 45 years. Based in Victoria, Leeson’s harvest around 250,000 tonnes of softwood and 120,000 tonnes of hardwood for Hancock Victorian Plantations using their sophisticated harvesting equipment. The logs they harvest go towards making a variety of timber products, including paper manufacturing, flooring, and decorative wood products.
Custom-built Quad Steering Widener
Leeson’s Logging & Cartage recently found themselves in need of a replacement for their old workhorse, so they commissioned Drake Trailers to build a new, customised Quad Steering Widener. Naturally, Drake Trailers was up for the challenge, having been responsible for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining many other custom-builds over their 60 years in operation.
The team at Leeson’s Logging & Cartage had a bit of trouble with the height of their logging forwarder on their old trailer, so we lowered the step by 200mm to help them get less than five metres.
Along with the standard features of our Quad Steering Widener, Leeson’s new trailer was completed with self-tracking axles, hydraulic suspension, and a drop bed frame. Finished off in brilliant metallic green to suit their rare Kenworth T950 Legend up the front, the final product was all class.
