What’s it like working at Drake Trailers?

As proud Australian trailer manufacturers, Drake Trailers has a vested interest in maintaining a home-grown manufacturing industry, which is why we strive to adopt the most efficient and innovative manufacturing processes and produce superior products for our leading range of heavy haulage transport trailers.

A team focussed on quality

At our trailer manufacturing and finishing facility in Brisbane, our team of 150 highly-trained designers, metal fabricators, fitters, mechanics and other qualified tradespeople work together to customise each trailer in the Drake range to the specific requirements of our customers.

“Great place to work and always something new to learn. Friendly and helpful colleagues and varying work types.”
Trailer Fitter

Key to producing a superior product is using the best materials and when it comes to the strongest, most durable heavy haulage trailers built for the Australian environment, only the best quality steel will do, which is why we source steel for our trailer frames from Australia, Japan and Sweden. Using high tensile, quenched steel provides our trailers with a longer life, greater strength and increased resilience and versatility across a wide range of Australian industries from agriculture to mining.

Our focus on quality doesn’t stop when our trailers roll out of our manufacturing facility. Our reputation has been built on not only superior build quality but exceptional customer service. Our range of spare parts extends to trailer models produced over 40 years ago – because these trailers are still in use and in great condition.

“…the work force all believed in what they were trying to achieve. Good people making a great product.”

The steel is cut on-site and welded with our state-of-the-art-robotic welder that provides increased accuracy and consistency with the added benefit of improved workplace safety for our welders. This gives Drake Trailers a competitive edge without compromising the quality.

Keeping us at the forefront of Australia’s trailer manufacturers is our over-riding commitment to safety. Every member of the Drake Trailers team undergoes a rigorous safety induction and continuous safety monitoring and reporting. We conduct thorough risk assessments on all our work processes and products. The best workforce is a safe workforce.
