At The Drake Group we’re proud of our history, being one of Australia’s top trailer manufacturers and a family owned and operated business for over 60 years. We’re always up for a chance to show off our Australian manufacturing facility to special guests.
So, we were delighted when The Hon. Scott Buchholz MP, Assistant Minister for Road Safety & Freight Transport, Federal Member for Wright, paid us a visit recently. The Minister was keen to engage with members of the Transport Industry with the goal to better understand the needs and how the Government may be of assistance.
We took the Minister for a tour around The Drake Group’s facility where he could see our dedicated and highly-trained staff making trailers of all shapes and sizes. This included the office where designers were updating existing trailer models using the latest in advanced computer modelling technology, the painting area where skilled technicians give trailers an individual and vibrant look, and even Drake Collectibles where die-cast models of our trailer lines are sold to excited collectors around the world.
The main attraction of course was our dedicated manufacturing facility. It’s a magnificent display of dedicated machinery, tools and specialised equipment, all being used in concert to engineer trailers of the utmost quality.
The Minister was clearly impressed, posting photos of the tour on his Facebook page along with: “Do not let anyone tell you Australian manufacturing doesn’t exist. Right on our doorstep The Drake Group are an example of Australian manufacturing going strong. Providing quality, innovative Australian designed and built trailers.”
We’d like to thank the Minister for seeing us and it was great to talk to him about how The Drake Group plays its part in the Australian transport and manufacturing industry.
