After an in-depth review of our ageing Fronius welding machines we undertook a tender process across multiple suppliers of welding machines. The key parameters were safety, warranty, training, on-site support and value.
As part of this process, The Drake Group met with Lincoln’s Australian Managing Director, Paul Vermeij, and their National Sales Manager Jed Pinkney and Jason Turner, Regional Sales Manager-Northern. The result of the tender was that Lincoln was selected as our preferred supplier for welding machines and also welding wire and welding consumables.
The entire team at The Drake Group is delighted to announce that we have entered into an innovative partnership with Lincoln Electric to supply ultra-modern 505 SpeedPulse welding machines specifically tailored to match our unique requirements, with the first 15 of these new welding machines arriving in August.
As part of the initial order, Lincoln will also supply a next generation multifunctional TIG 215c welding machine which will be used to advance skill levels in welding aluminium, stainless and steel. Lincoln have also agreed to provide 15 new Viking 3350 welding helmets as part of the roll out along with regular onsite technical and operational support training.
Lincoln has a lot in common with The Drake Group being a family business dating back over 120 years with Building Quality the key pillar of their business. The Lincoln brothers in 1909 made their first welding set, then in 1911, Lincoln Electric introduced the first variable voltage, single operator, portable welding machine in the world, since then, Lincoln have remained dominant and world class in manufacturing welding machines.
